JONESBORO, Ark. - The Southern Illinois men's golf team will travel to Jonesboro, Ark., for the 16th annual ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate on April 2-3. The 22-team field will play 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.

"This is a tough field," head coach Leroy Newton said. "We're going to find out just how much progress we've made this year. We'll have to play really well, but we're capable of finishing near the top."

SIU is led by Jake Erickson. He is coming off a win at the Grover Page Classic, which earned him his second Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honor this season. The junior is one of only two Salukis in school history to win two tournaments in the same season. He recently moved into sixth in school history in career rounds played.

The Salukis have finished among the top three at four of its eight tournaments this year, including a team win at the Skyhawk Fall Classic. Southern competed in the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate last season, and it finished tied for 12th in the 18-team field. Live scoring for this year's tournament will be available on GolfStat.com.
